A Study Of Virtual Preoperative And Postoperative Education Class On Patient Outcomes In Plastic Surgery

About this study

The purpose of this study is to assess whether the virtual education class improves patient understanding of the surgical process. To measure patient satisfaction with preoperative and postoperative education. To evaluate whether there is a difference in the rate of postoperative complications or avoidable messages/calls

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adults (18 years and older) scheduled for breast reconstruction, able to consent and participate in virtual education class, English speaking.

 Exclusion Criteria:

  • non breast reconstructive cases, patients unable to attend virtual sessions due to technology barriers, and non-English speakers (unless material becomes available in other languages in future)
