A Study Of AgiMon™ In Hospitalized Older Adults

About this study

The purpose of this study is to develop an agitation monitor to address the gap in care of agitation and delirium minimization in older adults with and without Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia (ADRD), and harmonize agitation, delirium and mobility research through objective standardization of agitation levels.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria for Phase 1 & 2 Patient Participants:

  • Age >50;

  • Estimated length of stay >24 hours in ICU; and

  • Are not admitted for acute alcohol intoxication, drug (prescribed or illicit) overdose or withdrawal.

  • Signed consent for 22-003098 ‘Harnessing the Power of Technology to Transform Delirium Severity Measurement in the ICU’

Exclusion Criteria for Phase 1 & 2 Patient Participants:

  • Admitted for acute alcohol intoxication, drug (prescribed or illicit) overdose or withdrawal.

  • Admitted for acute neuronal injury

  • Unable to communicate with research team due to sensory deficits (aphasic, blind, deaf) or language (does not speak English)

  • Skin allergy to adhesive product on AgiMon device
