A Study Of AI Speech App To Compare Speech Measurements For Young And Older Adults

About this study

The purpose of this study is to collect the Canary Speech App quantitative scores (overall, wellness, dynamics, speed, and power), for older cognitively impaired subjects and healthy subjects and determine if there are significant group differences.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • For young and healthy group: patients from 22 to 30 years of age, native English speakers.

  • For old and healthy group: patients from 50 to 80 years of age, native English speakers.

  • For MCI group: Patients from 50 to 80 years of age, native English speakers, previous MCI diagnosisat Mayo Clinic (based on neuropsychological testing).

 Exclusion Criteria:

  • Diagnosis of any type of dementia (Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Frontotemporal Dementia, etc), current diagnosis of general anxiety disorder or major depressive disorder, history of unexplained loss of consciousness in the past 12 months, history of stroke or TIA.
