About this study

The purpose of this study is to verify earlier results indicating that an electric massager can be used feasibly and is well tolerated.  In this study, we examine the feasibility and satisfaction of using an electronic massager to improve work-related well-being.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Employed by Mayo Clinic – General Internal Medicine Division

  • Age 18 years or older

  • Ability to provide verbal informed consent

  • Women of childbearing potential who self-report not being pregnant at the time of the massage

  • Ability to complete all aspects of this trial

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • Patients with an inability to stay in a prone position

  • Patients with bleeding disorders

  • Patients with a current diagnosis of cancer or being treated for cancer

  • Patients with allergies and/or local skin affectations

  • An unstable medical or mental health condition as determined by the physician investigator
