About this study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of a digital storytelling intervention derived through a community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach on type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) outcomes among Hispanic adults with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) in primary care settings through a randomized clinical trial.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Self-identify as Hispanic or Latino
- Age between 18 and 70 years
- Receive primary care at one of the participating clinical sites
- At least one office visit within the previous 12 months to the primary care site
- Diagnosis of T2D in the medical record
- T2D diagnosis for six months or longer
- Most recent hemoglobin A1c≥8%, and
- Intention to continue to receive medical care at the recruitment clinic for the next six months
