About this study

The purpose of this study is to utilize diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to visualize the facial nerve in healthy volunteers, providing a tool for more accurate surgical planning in plastic surgery

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  1. Consent to be included, healthy, no contraindications to MRI scanning

 

Exclusion Criteria: 

  1. Contraindications to MRI scanning, including a cardiac pacemaker or defibrillator, artificial heart valve, internal electrical devices (including a cohlear implant), aneurysm clips, permanent eyeliner
  2. History of claustrophobia
  3. Refusal to participate in the study
  4. Previous facial nerve surgery
