A Study to Create a Biobank of Fallopian Tube Organoids (Small, Simplified Organs) in Women Undergoing Salpingectomy (Surgical Removal of the Fallopian Tubes)


About this study

The aim of this study is to develop and bank organoids for collaborative use in subsequent etiological, biomarker and chemoprevention studies that will culminate in launching chemoprevention trials at Mayo.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. If you need assistance understanding the eligibility criteria, please contact the study team.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • All women undergoing salpingectomy surgeries are eligible.
  • Age ≥ 18 years must be able to understand and willing to sign an informed consent document.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Any history of or currently having medical conditions that prohibit the understanding or rendering of informed consent such as dementia, altered mental status, psychiatric conditions.
