About this study

The aim of the study is to determine the rate at which patient's complain of pain with certain special shoulder tests while still describing the shoulder is completely normal. 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:  

  • Self-described normal shoulder. 
  • Presenting for complaints unrelated to the shoulder to either physical therapy or orthopedic surgery clinic.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Children. 
  • Any previous shoulder surgery (involving clavicle, humerus, glenoid, glenohumeral joint, acromioclavicular joint).
  • Any previous shoulder fractures, dislocations, rotator cuff or labral tears.
  • Also, any patients with benign or malignant neoplasms involving the shoulder.
