About this study

The goal of this study is to collect tissue for a research project in which tendinopathy is induced in immunocompromised rats.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Men or women aged 18-60
  • Undergoing surgery for any reason (cosmetic or reconstructive) where surgical residual fat or tendon tissue is available following surgical procedures.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Diabetes or other metabolic disorder
  • Treatment with steroids or cancer chemotherapy
  • History of radiation therapy in the area being suctioned
  • Prisoners or others unable to provide informed consent
