Recreational opportunities in Rochester, Minnesota, and its surrounding areas are enhanced by Minnesota's four distinct seasons. The city also has 3,500 acres of parks, more than 85 miles of paved trails for biking and hiking, and a staffed nature center.

Area residents enjoy easy access to groomed Nordic ski trails and multiple options for boating, fishing, hunting, kayaking and canoeing enthusiasts. Recreation options also include the Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center, the Rochester Athletic Club, nine golf courses, several indoor tennis courts and two indoor climbing gyms.

Local spectator sports include collegiate baseball, hockey and soccer.
