Summary

Mr. Wiepert received his undergraduate training in Electrical Engineering at the University of Rochester in Rochester NY and graduate degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Mr. Wiepert began his professional career with Mayo as a software developer in 1999. He is now a Lead Analyst Programmer for the Informatics Systems Unit. In this role, he is supporting Bioinformatics projects for the Bioinformatics Core (BIC) and enterprise infrastructure projects for the Mayo Clinic Center for Individualized Medicine's (MCCIM) Advanced Genomics Technology Center (AGTC), focusing on the Research Laboratory Information Management System (RLIMS). He is currently an Instructor in Medical Informatics at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Mr. Wiepert's main interests lie in providing infrastructure support to the Mayo Research community. He is currently the IT Lead for Mayo's Pharmacogenomics Research Network (PGRN), Minnesota Partnership for Biotechnology and Medical Genomics grants The Research Organizational Portal for Information Exchange and the Collaborative Workflow Environment for Bioinformatics CWEB, as well as the Prostate SPORE National Biospecimen Network pilot project, the Inter-SPORE Prostate Biomarkers Study (IPBS). He is also active in supporting caBIG efforts in the Architecture and Integrative Cancer Research workspaces, and in the past has participated in the HL7 Genomics standards area.
