Pilot and Feasibility Studies Program

Pilot Program Director
Dawn S. Milliner, M.D.

A pilot and feasibility studies program will be an important part of the Mayo Clinic Urology O'Brien Center. The Center will designate significant resources to the pilot and feasibility program in order to promote new basic and clinical and translational research in kidney stone disease. Two important projects by junior investigators have been selected for this initial period at Mayo Clinic Rochester (2008-2010). This program is designed to introduce new investigators to kidney stone research, to encourage established researchers to break into this field, and to allow established nephrolithiasis investigators to pursue new and novel ideas that are distinct from areas of research in which they are currently involved. A pilot project and feasibility program scientific review committee (Dawn Milliner, M.D., chair) oversees the pilot and feasibility program.

The next request for Pilot Proposals is anticpated in the second quarter of 2010.
