Dr. Kullo's lab studies the genetics of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases and hereditary lipid disorders, focusing on genetic markers, circulating biomarkers and assays of arterial function, along with the use of electronic health records and registries.
Research projects include atherosclerosis, EHR-based genetic studies, genomic medicine, familial hypercholesterolemia, arterial function, and other studies related to heart and vascular disease.
The Atherosclerosis and Lipid Genomics Laboratory offers training opportunities for postdoctoral students interested in cardiovascular diseases and lipid disorders.
Dr. Kullo has authored hundreds of research papers about cardiovascular genomic discovery and implementation, cardiovascular biomarkers, atherosclerosis, arterial stiffness and vascular medicine.
