Summary

My research interests center around clinical outcomes. We are actively investigating short- and long-term results of minimally invasive surgery in the treatment of:

  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Appendicitis
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease
  • Overall cost of patient care

Additionally, as a Level 1 pediatric trauma center, we are engaged in improving outcomes for injured children through research and injury prevention. We are investigating clinical outcomes for specific injuries such as pancreatic lacerations and blunt abdominal trauma.

Alternatively, the pediatric trauma center is investigating our impact on young people through an extensive injury prevention program that includes child safety seats, intervention for distracted driving and fall prevention.
