Cardiopulmonary interactions in human congestive heart failure
Ongoing extramurally funded studies of human subjects with congestive heart failure include separate projects evaluating ventilatory control during exercise and sleep, as well as studies of pulmonary mechanics during exercise.
Studies are carried out in Clinical Research Unit (CRU) core facilities including the exercise laboratory and the sleep laboratory. Collaborators include Bruce D. Johnson, PhD, and Virend K. Somers, MD, PhD.
Investigations are collaborative and funded by NIH and AHA grants, and expected to continue for several years.
