Summary

Former research interests centered on the neurobiology and psychopharmacology of mood disorders, especially bipolar affective disorder. These earlier experiences have led to the current interest of theoretical considerations on the potential for pathologic function in the operations of self-organizing complex adaptive systems and their emergent behaviors. It is hoped that such work will improve our understanding of mechanisms possibly relevant to some forms of psychiatric illness.
