Summary
My research interests center around the care of hospitalized, namely geriatric perioperative, patients. Core concepts within my research experience to date include the following: impact of the H-O-T (Hospitalist-Orthopedic Team) model on peri-operative clinical outcomes, epidemiology of adverse cardiac events following hip surgery, effectiveness of dobutamine stress echocardiogram in preoperative evaluation of patients requiring urgent surgical repair of hip fractures, inpatient patient satisfaction. Other scholarly interests include patient safety and hospital medicine curriculum development. All of the research projects to date have been multidisciplinary and multispecialty efforts.
