Summary
Most of my research focuses on one of the following major themes:
- Cardiovascular disease in women and sex-based research of cardiovascular conditions
- Coronary heart disease:symptoms, pathophysiology, microvascular disease
- Risk factors and prevention
- Optional diagnostic and treatment strategies
- Heart disease in pregnancy and the effects of pregnancy-related conditions such as diabetes and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
- Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) in women and men
- Heart failure in women
- Reduction of health disparities and health equity, especially as it relates to women and minorities
- Development and assessment of strategies and programs to increase the number of women and minorities in science, medicine, cardiology and the leadership ranks of academic medicine.
