The goal of this multidisciplinary research team is to improve the care of children and adolescents with anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
- The team has developed Mayo Clinic Anxiety Coach, an iPhone application for anxiety management in children.
- Two studies have been completed using magnetic resonance spectroscopy to assess the neural effects of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for OCD in children.
- An internal grant helped develop an electronic assessment system for evaluating pediatric psychiatric symptoms.
Other projects include evaluating the relative effectiveness of different components of CBT, examining treatments at the health system level, investigating the relationship between anxiety symptoms and social adjustment, and developing intensive treatments for pediatric OCD.
