The Mayo Clinic Cancer Center — Research is dedicated to understanding the biology of cancer, discovering new ways to predict, prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, and transforming the quality of life for cancer patients today and in the future.

The focus of the Gene and Virus Therapy Program of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center — Research is developing new gene delivery systems and gene and virus-based therapies for cancer treatment. The program conducts research on all Mayo Clinic campuses. The Gene and Virus Therapy Program focuses on four areas of research:

  • Vector development
  • Immunomodulation
  • Preclinical and clinical pharmacology
  • Cell carriers
