Cores and Services

The Mayo Clinic Metabolomics Resource Core is a fully integrated program supporting metabolomics research and education worldwide. The program has four cores and one service line:

Administrative Core. Oversees the daily operations and facilitates integration.

Metabolomics Mass Spectrometry Core. Performs experiments for targeted quantification of metabolites, isotopomer analysis, fluxomics, dynamic phosphometabolomics, large-scale untargeted profiling and relative quantification of metabolites.

Metabolomics Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Core. Provides a NMR spectroscopy-based dynamic metabolomic platform for untargeted and targeted quantification of metabolite levels and measurement of fluxes within metabolic networks in human and transgenic animal biofluids.

Promotion and Outreach Core. Recruits and trains the next generation of metabolomics scientists by developing and disseminating educational materials via workshops, seminars and graduate level courses.

Bioinformatics, Biostatistics and Systems Biology Service Line. Provides statistical guidance during the study design stage, processes the ensuing data and provides an integrative framework to carry out systems biology modeling.
