Biospecimens Accessioning and Processing Core

Contact

The Biospecimens Accessioning and Processing Core combines specimen processing, nucleic acid extraction, electronic biospecimen tracking, and storage and shipping services in a highly integrated core laboratory vital to the basic, translational and epidemiological research programs of Mayo Clinic researchers.

In addition to supporting individual investigators, the core also provides key infrastructure needed to create, grow and maintain biorepositories, which are essential resources for individualized medicine research at Mayo Clinic.

The Biospecimens Accessioning and Processing Core, co-directed by W. Edward Highsmith Jr., Ph.D., and Wilma L. Lingle, Ph.D., is also a shared resource of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center.
