A Study Of Shoulder Joint Awareness Score (SJAS) Following Shoulder Arthroplasty

About this study

The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a concise patient-reported outcome measure (the Shoulder Joint Awareness Score (SJAS)) that assesses cognitive awareness of the shoulder joint in daily life following shoulder arthroplasty.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Age ≥ 18 years

  • Prior anatomic or reverse total shoulder arthroplasty

  • Ability to read and understand English

  • Ability to provide informed consent

 

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Revision shoulder arthroplasty

  • Active infection or acute postoperative complications

  • Cognitive impairment preventing completion of questionnaires
