About this study
The purpose of this study is to explore and identify key preferences, expectations, and themes expressed by patients regarding the design and delivery of a personalized audiovisual legacy film adaptation of Dignity Therapy (DT), including preferred content, narrative style, visual elements, audio, and music. To develop and pilot an audiovisual adaptation of Dignity Therapy delivered via videoconferencing, in which trained Film Medicine collaborators produce a personalized legacy film based on patient interviews, and to assess its feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary impact on dignity-related distress, hopefulness, quality of life, and spiritual wellbeing.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria for Patient:
Exclusion Criteria:
Untreated schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or other severe psychiatric illness
Recent suicide attempt or psychiatric hospitalization within the past 6 months
Active delirium
Advanced dementia
Participation in concurrent legacy offerings through the palliative care clinic.
