A Study Of Infant Body Composition According To Maternal Metabolic Status

About this study

The purpose of this study is to identify differences in body composition of infants up to 6 months of age according to maternal metabolic status.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • 6 weeks to 6 months of age.

  • A parent and/or guardian will provide written, informed consent.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Mothers who do not have Minnesota Research Authorization will be excluded as this will preclude review of, and abstraction from their electronic medical record.

  • infant weight > 8000g

  • infants born before 37 weeks gestation

  • medications known to impact growth

  • active systemic illness (including genetic disorders).
