About this study

The mian objective of this small pilot study is to evaluate the efficacy of an individualized breathing protocol on lowering blood pressure among adults with borderline or elevated BP (SBP≥130mmHg, DBP≥90mmHg, or both) as well as their effects on other reported health measures such as sleep, anxiety, and depression. 

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Adults aged 18-60.
  • History of elevated or borderline elevated blood pressure (SBP ≥ 130mmHg, DBP ≥ 90mmHg, or both)
  • Ability to understand study procedures and provide informed consent.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Current use of medications specifically for BP management.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women.
  • Severe psychiatric disorders (e.g., schizophrenia, bipolar disorder)
  • Significant comorbidities (e.g., severe cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled diabetes)
