About this study
The purpose of this study is to quantitatively examine, via a post-test only survey, a tailored intervention utilizing virtual human technology (VHT) to improve communication with rural and ethnic/racial minority patients and their willingness to participate in clinical research as an ultimate means to increase the diversity of NCI-sponsored clinical trials (CCTs).
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
Individuals who are over the age of 18
Identify as Black/African American or Hispanic
Able to read and write in English or Spanish at least an 8th grade level
Are in possession of an email account or ability to receive texts and willingness to be re-contacted
Consent to sharing socio-demographic information related to eligibility for cancer clinical trials
Florida residents
Exclusion Criteria:
Adult minorities who are under the age of 18
Do not identify as Black or Hispanic
Not fluent in English or Spanish
Do not have an email account or able to receive texts
Willing to be re-contacted
Do not consent to sharing socio-demographic information related to eligibility for cancer clinical trials
Do not reside in the state of Florida
