Female Voice Stimulus for Pre and Postoperative Speech Perception Evaluation in Cochlear Implants

About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine if scores with a female voice stimulus are comparable to the current male voice stimuli.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • ≥ 18 years of age. 
  • Cochlear implant user.
  • Hearing aid user.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak fluent English.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • > 18 years of age.
  • Additional handicaps that would limit the patient from being able to follow study instructions.
  • Patients that declined MN research authorization.
