About this study
The purpose of this study is to assess the overall feasibility of virtual reality for the treatment of fibromyalgia and identify problems, issues, or challenges that may impact the performance of a future clinical trial.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Symptoms of Fibromyalgia
- Prior positive Fibromyalgia questionnaire to include Widespread Pain Index and Symptom Severity Score
- Negative exam for alternative rheumatologic disease
Exclusion Criteria:
- Initiation of opioid medications within 8 weeks
- Major concomitant illness
- Current illicit drug use or alcohol use that that would interfere with adherence to study requirements
- Symptoms of vertigo or dizziness that would limit tolerability of the VR headset
