About this study
The purpose of this study is to describe the perceptions, experiences, and barriers to utilizing frailty screening for surgical patients by perianesthesia nursing staff.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Prianesthesia registered nurse (Full-time or Part-time) working with older adult population.
- Age ≥ 18 years old.
- At least 1 year of experience working in the adult perianesthesia unit.
- Able to communicate in English.
- Willing to voluntary participate in this study and provide informed consent.
Exclusion Criteria:
- The registered nurses working per-diem or occasionally “floating” to perioperative care units and those working exclusively with the pediatric population will be excluded from participating in this study.
