About this study
The purpose of this study is to create a group of blood and urine samples and quality of life data from Mayo Clinic patients with a diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The blood and urine samples and quality of life data will be used for future research of IBD at Mayo Clinic and future research at Mayo Clinic to learn about, prevent, or treat other health problems.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Individuals (male or female) diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) according to the criteria of the NIDDK IBD Genetics Consortium, as described in their Phenotype Operating Manual dated May 10, 2006.
- Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is defined as Crohn’s Disease (CD), Ulcerative Colitis (UC), Indeterminate Colitis (IC) and IBD, type not specified.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Can understand and sign informed consent.
- Willing to provide clinical data and a blood sample.
Exclusion Criteria:
- Inability to understand and sign informed consent.
- Inability to confirm diagnosis of IBD from medical records.
