The Mayo Clinic Robert and Arlene Kogod Center on Aging is an innovative center where education, research, and practice come together to improve the quality of life from birth to end of life. The goal of the center is to discover ways to delay the onset of age-related diseases and disabilities and, if they do occur, to find ways to make them more manageable.

The Kogod Center on Aging encompasses clinicians and scientists from all departments at Mayo Clinic's three campuses, in Arizona, Florida and Minnesota. These unique collaborations are unlike anywhere else and lead to innovative ways of studying aging. Programs being developed in the center involve cellular senescence, independent living, aging bone and muscle, metabolic disease and hormone regulation, and progenitor and stem cells. These programs will bridge the gap between basic science and clinical application, allowing us to better understand aging and how to improve the entire life cycle.
