Did anything surprise you about Mayo Clinic?
I had heard about the frozen section bench and Mayo's "special stain," but there's nothing like seeing the speed and volume of the process up close.
What is living in Rochester, Minn., like for you?
I lived in Rochester for a year. The people were really friendly, and the summer months were lovely!
What does your future look like right now?
I'm joining the Department of Anatomic Pathology at Cleveland Clinic as part of a large, completely subspecialized practice. The faculty there are internationally renowned experts, but what I was struck by was how down-to-earth, supportive and friendly the department is.
