Liewei Wang, M.D., Ph.D., received her M.D. degree from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, followed by a Ph.D. degree from Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Wang was trained in a national center for pharmacogenomics research.
Since assuming her faculty position at Mayo Clinic, her research has been focused on the use of high-throughput genomic technology, joined with cell-based model systems and clinical translational studies, to study mechanisms of variation in drug response.
Dr. Wang is also involved in Mayo Clinic's Center for Individualized Medicine, which has a mission to bring genomic science to the bedside. Dr. Wang is the co-principal investigator for the Mayo Clinic- and National Institutes of Health-funded Pharmacogenomics Research Network and the associate director of the Pharmacogenomics Program in the Mayo Clinic Center for Individualized Medicine.
