I have been matched with a mentor in cardiovascular diseases. One of my mentor's projects is focuses on finding clinical, lab and strain variables, which will help us determine how severe a patient's congestive heart failure will become.
How would you describe the atmosphere of Mayo Clinic?
The atmosphere is very friendly; everyone seems to get along well. This is key to having patients feel at home and welcomed. Even though I was a summer student, I felt at ease as soon as I came to Rochester.
What is your everyday life like in Rochester?
I usually go to the Gonda Building to work on my research from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. After work, I relax, do some studying and try to go to the gym. On the weekends, I visit random places in and around Minnesota with other people in my program.
What are your plans for the future?
I will continue my education in medical school and begin to apply for residencies. After my experience here, Mayo Clinic will be one of the residencies I consider.

Rochester is different from Maplewood in that a large part of it consists of Mayo Clinic. The main and busiest area of the town is located right around the buildings of Mayo.
