Why Mayo?:
I chose Mayo for three main reasons: 1. Patient-centered care. 2. Excellence in education. 3. The balance between an emergency medicine and pediatric emergency medicine practice. Mayo has a long-standing tradition of excellence in patient care and education. As a clinician, the most important thing is being able to take care of your patients. It is a pleasure and a privilege to practice in a patient-centered environment. Dr. William J. Mayo said in 1910, "The best interest of the patient is the only interest to be considered," and it still holds true today. My major interest in medicine is medical education — at Mayo, education of residents and medical students is a priority. Finally, I am dual-boarded in pediatrics and emergency medicine. The emergency medicine department includes a robust pediatric emergency medicine practice.
