Allison L. Palmer, Pharm.D.
Program:
PGY2 Critical Care Resident
Hometown:
McKinney, TX
Education:
Pharm.D., University of Houston, 2010
Training:
PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, 2011
Areas of interest:
Pain/sedation/delirium, hemodynamic support, surgical/trauma critical care, and ICU infectious diseases
Why I chose Mayo Clinic for residency training:
Definitely the people. I knew that Mayo Clinic would be a great place to train and would offer many opportunities for ICU rotations; however, I was really drawn in by how much I enjoyed all of the people that I met at ASHP Midyear and during my interview. It was evident to me how valued pharmacy is throughout the institution; and I was impressed by the number of clinical pharmacists and preceptors as well as the extended evening and weekend clinical coverage.
