Mayo Clinic regularly hosts lectures from nationally and internationally renowned leaders focusing on diversity, culture and medicine, world peace, and spirituality. Past presenters have included Hugh Price, the Dalai Lama, Anne Fadiman, Gen. Clara Adams-Ender, Eboo Patel and Gen. Colin Powell.
Mayo Clinic Center for Humanities in Medicine sponsors and incorporates cultural events into the daily lives of patients, employees and community members.
The center integrates the arts, history and ethics into the medical environment to support the Mayo ideal that the needs of the patient come first.
Programs include musical performances, visual art exhibits, theatre and dance events, workshops, lectures, films and bedside arts programs for hospitalized patients.
