Mayo Medical School Tuition Scholarships
Through the generous gifts of Mayo Medical School benefactors, medical school tuition scholarships are available. Through application review and on-campus interviews, the Admissions Committee grants the awards.
All students who are appointed to the medical school receive Dean's Academic Achievement Scholarships. These awards are renewable and subject to continued meritorious performance. Awards will be rescinded if the student receives external funding equal to 100 percent of his or her tuition.

Walmart Foundation Scholarship Programs
Walmart Foundation offers several scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $13,000 paid over four years to students demonstrating financial need.
AAMC Grants & Awards
The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) awards grants to individuals and programs that make significant contributions in the field of medical education, research and community service. The Beinecke Scholarships
Scholarships ($4,000 prior to entering graduate school and $30,000 while attending graduate school) are awarded to highly motivated men and women pursuing graduate degrees at any university.
Carnegie Endowment Junior Fellows Program
Fellowships (up to $35,000 per year) are awarded to seniors and recent graduates from over 400 colleges. Fellows work as research assistants.
Fulbright Scholarship Program
Grants are made to U.S. citizens and nationals of other countries for a variety of educational activities, primarily university lecturing, advanced research, graduate study, and teaching in elementary and secondary schools.
The Gates Foundation awards scholarships to promising students who do not have the financial means to attend college and encourages leadership and public service in the U.S. and abroad. The Gates Foundation also provides scholarships for graduate study in fields that benefit local and global communities.
Scholarships are awarded to highly qualified college students who intend to pursue careers as scientists, mathematicians or engineers.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Scholarships are awarded to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents of Hispanic heritage who plan to pursue undergraduate or graduate degrees.
Jackie Robinson Foundation
Four-year college ($7,500 per year) scholarships are provided to disadvantaged students of color based on academic merit, leadership, community service and general commitment.
Rhodes Scholarships provide all expenses for two or three years of study at the University of Oxford in England, and may allow funding in some instances for four years.
Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Each fellowship supports up to two years of graduate study — in any field and in any advanced degree-granting program — in the United States. Awards up to $25,000 in maintenance grants and up to $20,000 in tuition support for each year of graduate study is supported.
Ron Brown Scholar Program
The Ron Brown Scholar Program annually awards 10 to 20 $40,000 college scholarships to extraordinary African-American high school seniors. No restrictions are placed on the students' choices of school or discipline.
United Negro Scholarship Fund
UNCF administers scholarships, fellowships and institutional grants that support students at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
Indian Ethnicity Scholarships:
- Association on American Indian Affairs
Scholarships are open to students from all federally recognized and nonrecognized tribes in the continental U.S. and Alaska. AAIA funds universities, community colleges, tribal colleges, technical colleges and private colleges.
- American Indian College Fund
The American Indian College Fund provides scholarship support to tribal colleges, state and private universities pursuing undergrad, graduate and professional degrees.

- Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund provides a wide range of scholarships and financial aid for Latino students.
- First in My Family Scholarship Program
The First in My Family Scholarship program offers scholarships to Hispanic-American students who are the first in their family to attend college and have financial need. Students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000.
Physical Therapy Scholarships:
- Ambucs Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded to therapy students in their junior or senior year in a bachelor's degree program, or a graduate program leading to a master's or doctoral degree. Awards range from $500 to $1,500 annually.
Imaging and Therapy Students:
- Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
The SDMS Foundation's scholarship program provides a $2,500 scholarship to sonography students just beginning their career in diagnostic medical sonography. Additional $2,500 scholarships are awarded to experienced sonographers who are continuing their education by pursuing advanced sonography-related degrees.
