Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship
The Mayo Clinic Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) sponsored by Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, is a great way to build your skills as a young scientist or test your inclinations toward research.
This program is partially funded by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health.
Mayo Physicians of Tomorrow
To address the number of underrepresented individuals progressing into medicine, Mayo Clinic has developed the Mayo Physicians of Tomorrow Program to provide strategies for college students in distinguishing themselves as competitive medical school applicants. The program is designed specifically for rising college juniors from groups underrepresented in medicine from selected institutions.
Selected participants will immerse themselves in exploring career pathways to become a physician during a week summer experience at Mayo Clinic's Rochester campus. They will interact with Mayo Clinic School of Medicine students and staff; have the opportunity to shadow Mayo physicians and interact with patients; and participate in workshops that will assist them in distinguishing themselves as competitive medical school applicants.
