On behalf of the Office for Diversity, I would like to welcome you to the College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic. The Office for Diversity seeks to advance the diversity of our learners and their experiences throughout the College of Medicine. We believe that Diversity is essential to achieving Mayo Clinic's goals to attract, develop and retain the best people, and make outstanding health care, research, and education a reality.
Specifically, our responsibilities include leading those efforts to maximize opportunities that cultivate a diverse and dynamic learning environment. This focus means developing and guiding new diversity initiatives to attract and engage talented students and learners who will transform and grow the best of our efforts in health care, research and education.
We also want to offer and foster opportunities that fuel a desire in learners to both experience and emulate the Mayo Clinic Model of Care in all the of the three shields. Moreover, we would like our students and learners to acquire the knowledge and skills to provide the best approaches to patient care, research and education in their academic and professional lives in the years ahead.
Finally, our greatest hope is that our students will have a diverse set of educational experiences that stimulate them to become long-term and outstanding contributing members of the health and medical profession, and also the diverse communities that are reflective of our local community, nation and world.
