During your Nursing Clinical Education Program at Mayo Clinic in Florida, you will have the opportunity to rotate through a variety of care settings. Your experiences may include experience in:
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Critical care
- Emergency medicine
- Bone marrow/heart/kidney/liver/lung/pancreas transplant
- Hematology/oncology
- Interventional radiology
- Maternal-child
- Medical/surgical/telemetry
- Orthopedics
Students may choose one of these areas or indicate a specialty area of interest in approved independent study rotations with our affiliate schools. Mayo Clinic in Florida will try to place you in clinical rotations that match your needs and interests.
Our Nursing Clinical Education Program experience prepares you to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a health care team.
Grading or Evaluation
Mayo Clinic uses evaluative tools that include:
- Written examination
- Demonstration of skills
- Self-assessment exercises
- Faculty/preceptor reviews
Our system of evaluation provides students and faculty with a comprehensive look at individual performance, allowing students who are experiencing academic difficulty to be directed to appropriate support resources, including tutoring programs and counseling opportunities.
