Several Mayo libraries are open for up to 90 hours per week throughout
the Rochester campus. Individual library hours vary, however students
may arrange access to library resources as needed.
- Colonial Library: Mayo's Colonial
Library, located in the Colonial Building, serves students and
staff who need books, journals, videos, audiotapes and online
resources dealing with nursing, health care and business management
and personal development.
- Plummer Library: The Plummer Library occupies
the 11th through 17th floors of the historic Plummer Building
and contains Mayo’s most extensive book and journal collections.
Established in 1907, the Plummer Library serves as the central
clinical and research library for Mayo Clinic.
The Mayo Medical Bookstore, located on Plummer 11, offers
textbooks, review guides and alumni memorabilia.
- Saint Marys Staff Library: The Staff Library of Saint Marys Hospital provides information resources and services to Mayo employees and students in Mayo-affiliated programs. Subject specialties

- Venables Library: The Venables Library
is located on the Siebens Medical Education Building 10th floor
near several MSHS classrooms. It is among the most popular libraries
with MSHS students in Rochester and houses a collection of current
medical and allied health-care textbooks.
Venables Library provides access to literature-searching services
and instruction in how to search. It also has audiovisual materials,
anatomical models and computer-aided educational programs.
- Learning Resource Center (LRC): The LRC
is located in the Mitchell Student Center and houses a small,
carefully selected collection of current medical textbooks. Several
special collections are available, including women’s issues
in medicine and health, medical education, examination review
books, and other selected ethics and humanities materials. Audiovisual
materials, anatomical models and computer-aided educational programs
are provided.
