Each year, Mayo School of Health Sciences accepts up to six students in the Perioperative Nursing Program at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville on a competitive basis.

Planning for the 2009 program is still in progress.

How to Apply
The Perioperative Nursing Program starts accepting applications Ninety-days prior to the start state.  Incomplete applications are not reviewed by the program’s admissions committee.

Step 1: Complete and submit the Mayo School of Health Sciences’ online application. A complete application will include the following:

  • Mayo School of Health Sciences application form
  • Two letters of reference (1 academic or professional reference and 1 from your present supervisor)
  • Official copies of all college transcripts.
  • Any supporting information, such as advanced nursing specialty certification, awards, publications and honors
  • The nonrefundable $25 application fee is waived for current Mayo employees.

Step 2: Complete and submit a Perioperative Nursing Program Interests and Expectations Summary (a one-page typewritten summary of your career goals and objectives for completing this program).

Step 3: The selection committee carefully reviews each complete application. Applicants considered for appointment will be interviewed. Appointment notification will be received within one week after the last interview.
