The Electroneurodiagnostic Program is offered by Gateway Community
College in Phoenix, whose curriculum follows that required by American
Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET).
The program consists of 20 credits, which you will complete in
10 months. The program includes classroom instruction and experiences
performing tests at clinical sites and local hospitals.
The Electroneurodiagnostics Program prepares students for a career
as members of the clinical neurophysiology team under the direct
supervision of experienced technicians.

Clinical Training
During the core day hours of your certificate program, you will
participate in clinical rotations at Mayo Clinic Hospital.
Through Mayo Clinic's well-planned and supervised rotations, you
will gain electroneurodiagnostic experience at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale
in the following areas:
- Electroencephalogram (EEG neurofeedback)
- Intraoperative monitoring
- Somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP)
- Brainstem auditory evoked responses (BAER)
- Visual evoked potentials (VEP)
- Neurophysiological diagnostics
Through these rotations, you will develop skills in using sophisticated
electronic testing equipment. You also will be exposed to the technical
aspects of surgical monitoring in the operating room.
Grading or Evaluation
As you move through the electroneurodiagnostic rotations, you will
be evaluated in each main area by your preceptor and faculty from
GateWay Community College . Performance is evaluated using a competency-based
evaluation system and performance appraisals.
Mayo School of Health Sciences uses evaluative tools that include:
- Demonstration of skills
- Self-assessment exercises
- Faculty reviews
Our system of evaluation provides students and faculty with a comprehensive
look at individual performance.
During all course work, the college requires a minimum grade point
average (GPA) of 2.0 on the 4.0 grading scale.
Curriculum Enhancements
Mayo School of Health Sciences is committed to developing and maintaining the very best education programs. Changes may be made to the curriculum and other aspects of this program as necessary to assure the highest-quality training.
