Program Description
Students enrolled in the Electrophysiology Program at Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) have the option to complete a portion of their clinical rotations at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville. The certificate program, offered by Santa Fe Community College, is eight months long.

Facilities
Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., was established in 1986 as a comprehensive medical facility in the southeastern United States, where advanced programs in education and research support the highest-quality patient care. Campus activity is centered around the Mayo Clinic hospital and interconnected Davis, Mayo and Cannaday buildings. The ambulatory facilities provide clinical services ranging from primary to specialty care and advanced procedures. The inpatient facility, Mayo Clinic hospital, has 214 beds and provides comprehensive clinical services, including surgical and medical intensive care units, specialized solid-organ transplant units, and advanced cardiac and neurosurgery facilities. The state-of-the-art Birdsall Medical Research Building is a center for neurological disease research. The Griffin Cancer Research Building was completed in 2001 to support oncology research.

Graduation and Certification
Upon successful completion of the Electrophysiology Program, you will receive an Advanced Training Certificate from Santa Fe Community College.

Hours
For 11 weeks of the internship rotation, the student’s learning schedule will consist of one 10-hour day per week. The last two weeks are 40 hours each.

Class Size
Each year, approximately two students are selected to complete their clinical rotation at Mayo School of Health Sciences (MSHS).
