Students in the Clinical Research Coordinator program are billed tuition for courses taken at the Mayo School of Health Sciences (MSHS) and Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC ) separately. Tuition rates for MSHS courses are set based on a regional market analysis of both private and public institutions of higher education. The associate and baccalaureate level rates are based on (but not exactly the same) the RCTC and the University of Minnesota Twin Cities rates for in-state students. The MSHS Education Committee sets tuition rates at its September meeting for the academic year commencing the following July. Students will need to pay tuition to RCTC and MSHS separately as billed by each institution.
Financial aid assistance for both MSHS and RCTC courses is available through the RCTC Financial Aid Office. All RCTC students are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, to be considered for any type of financial aid — grant, work study or loan funding. Students must complete a new FAFSA for each year they wish to apply for financial aid. Applications are made available in January.
Although applications are accepted throughout the year, there are priority deadlines for each semester. Students who complete their files by these deadlines will have an award letter prior to the first disbursement date. See the RCTC Web site for complete information. The RCTC Financial Aid Office is notified of all MSHS tuition and book fees in order to consider them during aid qualification.
Students are responsible for purchasing required textbooks and arranging their own living accommodations and transportation.
