Surgical Technology Internship (Florida)
Students enrolled in the Florida State College, Concorde Career Institute and Fortis College surgical technology programs complete surgical rotations in general surgery and outpatient surgery at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., during the final phase of their education.
Mayo School of Health Sciences coordinates the Surgical Technology Internship for students from the affiliated schools listed above. The length of the internship is flexible and depends on the home institution's requirements.

To complete the Mayo School of Health Sciences Surgical Technology Internship, you must be enrolled in either the Florida State College, Concorde Career Institute or Fortis College surgical technology program.

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville is a comprehensive medical facility providing advanced programs in education and research that support the highest quality patient care. Campus activity is conducted in the Mayo Clinic Hospital and the interconnected Davis, Mayo and Cannaday buildings.
The ambulatory facilities provide clinical services ranging from primary to specialty care and advanced procedures. Mayo Clinic Hospital provides comprehensive inpatient services, including surgical and medical intensive care units, specialized solid-organ transplant units, and advanced cardiac and neurosurgery facilities.
For the majority of the internship, your learning schedule includes eight-hour days, five days a week.
Mayo School of Health Sciences can admit approximately two students at a time for the Surgical Technology Internship. Rotations are typically four weeks in length but, if space is available, can extend to eight weeks to meet the home institution's requirements.
