Tuition and Financial Aid
Costs for the program are similar for students enrolled in the certificate option and the Bachelor of Science in Health Professions (BSHP) option at University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR).
Students enrolled in the certificate option pay tuition and apply for financial aid through Mayo School of Health Sciences. Students enrolled in the BSHP option pay tuition and apply for financial aid through UMR.
Students enrolled in the program may find it difficult to hold employment and are, therefore, encouraged to avoid it if possible.

For 2013-2014, program tuition is $389 per credit. There are 65 credits in the program. Additionally, $555 in course fees is charged throughout the length of the program:
- $20 — program handbook
- $95 — state society conference tuition
- $125 — classroom supplies and mock exam software licensing
- $155 — lab supplies
- $160 — professional society dues
The estimated tuition and fees for the full program is $25,840.
Other mandatory expenses

- $200 — Sonography Principles & Instrumentation Examination (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)

Living expenses such as transportation, housing and meals are not paid to the school. However, these expenses are considered for purposes of processing financial aid, where applicable.
