Approximately 10 students are accepted on a competitive basis each year to the Sonography Program. Classes begin in August.
How to Apply
The application AND all supporting documentation must be submitted between November 1 and February 1 for classes beginning the following August.
Students pursuing the Bachelors of Science in Health Professions (BSHP) degree option should complete the University of Minnesota Rochester application for admission. BSHP students will be jointly admitted to UMR and MSHS and do not need to make separate application for admission to MSHS.
Students pursuing the certificate option should refer to the MSHS application instructions below.
Having this page available while completing the on-line application will be helpful, as these directions are specific to the Sonography Program.
Step 1:Complete the online Application for Admission.
- After creating an account and/or log-in, please select Application for Admission and complete each section.
- Within the application system, upload an application essay. The essay should be 300-500 words in length. Please keep in mind that the essay should be a reflection of your qualifications and interest in the program. (Note: Please specify in your application essay whether you are applying for the Minnesota campus or Florida campus.)
- A non-refundable $35 application fee is payable by credit card via the online application.
Step 2:Submit the following materials:
